A 20th cast iron garden bench designed by Edward Bawden and cast by the Bilston Iron Foundry in 1956.

Edward Bawden (1903-89) was a master printmaker, illustrator, watercolourist and designer and is today recognised as one of the most influential artists of his generation. He refused to see a distinction between fine art and commercial design and the interesting design of the current bench with its geometrical panels is a perfect example of this approach. It was marketed by the Bilston Foundry in 1956 for £18 guineas!
