A 19th century English Gothick wood chimneypiece

A good early Nineteenth century Gothick carved wood chimneypiece with replacement Portland stone slips. Restoration to elements of the woodwork.

PROVENANCE

The Upper Drawing Room, Kentchurch Court, Herefordshire – the home of the Scudamore family was largely rebuilt by John Nash between 1785 - 1807– no drawings to date have been found for this chimneypiece - see Country Life article by John Cornforth 15th, 22nd, 29th December 1966.
